The Belize Zoo's 2023 Conservation Camp has finished. They hosted 25 Belizean youths this year, and they got to learn all about conservation and the local animals, along with seeing some of the sights. A huge thanks to all of the organizations that came together to offer this experience to the youths.

The Belize Forest Department had its Youth Summer Camp last week, and it was here in Cayo at Sacred Heart College. Looks like the students had a lot of fun while learning about sustainability. They also got to visit the Green Iguana Conservation Project and Bulridge's acreage. Awesome to see.

he Belize Zoo's Summer Conservation Camp will be from August 7th through the 11th this year. It's for youths between 12 and 17, and teaches students about wildlife, conservation, and many other helpful skills and subjects. Now's the time to apply.

The Friends for Conservation and Development's 2022 Chiquibul Junior Ranger Summer Camp will start on August 13th. They are accepting applications now for kids between 10 and 12 years old.

Video of the day.  Daniel Velazquez created this video with footage from his documentary about last Summer's Sustainable Summer Camp in Bullet Tree.  The kids did many clean-ups along the majestic Mopan, and after seeing the amazing amount of litter that was left each weekend, the kids have something to say to the loser litterbugs.  Great shame campaign.

The SISE HoC will be Launching the No Styrofoam Kids Summer Camp exhibit on Thursday, October 4th.  Everyone is invited to see the exhibit, and hear about the story behind the unique Summer Camp.

"As promised, we will be exhibiting the results of our '1st No-plastic, No-styrofoam Kids Summer Camp, 2018,' which we held in Bullet Tree Falls, for 50 kids, during July. Please see the invitation below for details on the opening ceremony. Also, take note that the exhibit will be displayed at the NICH House Of Culture in San Ignacio Town, from the 4th to 18th of October. Feel free to visit anytime!"

The Eco Kids Summer Camp has once again come to an end.  Thanks, Chaa Creek, for once again sponsoring an amazingly educational Summer camp!

"What an incredible a week of camp we've had. Huge thank you to everyone who contributed towards the success of Eco Kids camp 2018, until next time!

Bringing along birds that classify as raptors, you can bet that sharp claws, giant wings and menacing eyes instantly got everyone’s attention. Getting the chance to touch and hold wings and Taxidermied birds, excitement quickly filled the air. Another topic of conversation that morning was the epic ECOLYMPICS! Yup, you read that right! Upon our return back to camp yesterday, each time encountered an obstacle course which was a combination of games played throughout the week along with their knowledge from past presentations. Forcing them to work as a team, games such as Maya ball and worm races tested their ability to combine the different skills from each camper."

The 2023 SSBA Basketball Summer Camp will start on Monday, July 17th, and go through Friday the 21st. There will be concurrent sessions at the Santa Elena Sports Complex and Galvez stadium, and there will be 3 different age brackets. It's free, and there's no need to register. Video of the day.  Daniel Velazquez has made another video with footage from the 1st No Styrofoam No Plastic Summer Camp.  They are getting ready for the 2nd annual Summer camp. 

Bullet Tree has closed the access to the river due to all the trash left and pollution occurring there.  This video reminds everyone that littering in the river is unacceptable.  It's easy to clean up after oneself.

"The GREAT Summer Camp in Bullet Tree was a huge success. They had the closing ceremony at the Immaculate Conception primary school.  Corporal Medina, from Bullet Tree, did a fantastic job organizing the event.  Chief Rosado gave the closing address. Thanks to everyone that made this happen!"
