Great service gets the average waiter nowhere, says LeeAnne Homsey, a veteran NYC restaurant manager turned consultant. ...
Trish Sadar's insight:

This article brings home many points!

The first talks about how servers are not really bonding with their customers.  They seem to be doing what is expected; however, not making those emotional connections.

With excellent customer service isn't our goal to engage our staff to believe in the experience our product/service is providing so that they can deliver that over and over again?  We first have to be committed to investing in our staff and give them what they need, and show them by connecting the dots the benefits to them as well.

It is difficult to do that by making our teams go to where we are.  The easier way is for us to understand and listen to their needs, and then the we can walk together to achieve exceptional customer service.

Trish Sadar's insight:

Interesting article projecting that approximately 80% of companies are incorporating social media into their customer service strategies.

The best practices for doing this successfully is key to study, research, and understand.  Having the infrasture, policies, and necessary resources to sustain this is important.

If the social media tools are not responded to -- they could do more damage than good. (my humble opinion)
