Three things my six-year-old shows us about great writing and collaborative storytelling | JG Communication

Three things my six-year-old shows us about great writing and collaborative storytelling | JG Communication | How to find and tell your story | Scoop.it

"For my 40th birthday last year, my son gave me a book he’d written. It had a cover on which he’d written down the story’s title and had drawn a cover picture, and it was filled with several empty pages that he’d taped together. The idea was that we would write the story together."

Read the full article to find out more about these three storytelling tips to get you started:

  • Write your headline first
  • Know your audience
  • Grab your audience's interest
Kim Zinke (aka Gimli Goose)'s insight:

Not everybody can write a good story well.  What everybody does have, is a story to tell.  If you're writing skills aren't up to snuff, look for other ways to tell your story.  Or, as this article demonstrates, you don't have to tell your story alone. Consider collaborative storytelling.

Search Stories | Google Video Creator | How to find and tell your story | Scoop.it

Welcome to the Search Stories Video Creator. Just type in your searches and select the kind of results that best communicate your story. Then, share your story with the world.

Ha ha ha -- I just spent several hours creating 7 very short videos about business storytelling -- and had a ton of fun using Google's Search Stories Video Creator!!

These are micro-stories, each with a beginning, middle, and an end.  All but 3 contain a context, premise, problem, and solution. And I'll re-do those 3 tomorrow so they are stories rather than promos.

See, you CAN share a mini-business story using some of these new technologies!

This tool is so easy to use it takes no time at all. And I now have a YouTube channel :))

What a total hoot. I couldn't stop giggling every time I made one. Go check them out and tell me what you think. Then go make some of your own!
