Since I am a 21st century studnet , it is neccessary to updated in all the techonological adavances that make our lifes easier. This article is important to for me as a student and a pre-service teacher becuase I can use for my personal and professional developement, so I will integrate this tool for my Personal Learning Environment.
This article explains some unique characteristics about using Drive that are new for me.
1) The Drive document can have different memebers, but I can send a message to communicate something to only one  memeber.
2) If I am the owner of the document, I can limit that other members can do. For instance, View: People can view, but can’t change or share the file with others. Comment: People can make comments and suggestions, but can’t change or share the file with others. Edit: People can make changes, accept or reject suggestions, and share the file with others.’

As a manner of conclusion, I can say that this articule was useful for me due to the fact that all this information  is new for me. Currently, I know all this content, so I will apply it in the nearning proccess.

Embed Videos with Google Drive- A Useful Tip for Teachers ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

Embed Videos with Google Drive- A Useful Tip for Teachers ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | Into the Driver's Seat | Scoop.it

If for any reasons you do not want to upload your classroom videos to YouTube and are looking for another free hosting video that can allow you to upload and share your videos Google Drive is one of your best options. Only few Google Drive users know that there is a functionality in Google Drive that enables anyone with a Google Drive account to instantly upload their videos and after the upload you can get an embed code to integrate your video anywhere on the web. Here is how you can do it.

Darleana McHenry's curator insight, October 4, 2013 6:30 PM

I think that this can be used to share videos among teachers as well.

Martin (Marty) Smith's insight:

Found A Cool Use for Scoop.it's new Newsletter feature. It is easy to create a content landing page and host it free with Google Drive.

Here's How...

1. Create a newsletter using the Manage > Create A Newsletter

2. Download as a Zip file. Open the Zip file.

3. Upload the HTML file to your Google drive into a public folder.

4. Click on the HTML file. A window pops up, click on OPEN in lower right corner.

5. Click on preview. Copy the URL that appears in the browser window:

https://googledrive.com/host/0B0eG3a8zValDQjl6aldwQlJMNDg/email%203.html ;

Next figuring out how to add a Call To Action and subscription code.  BTW, Unbounce charges $700 a year to host landing pages :).

Also works on DropBox.

The Free Alternative
The interesting question is could you create a web marketing business with NO money for websites or blogs? Yes is the answer to that question. By using free tools such as Google Drive, Scoop.it and Blogger or WordPress you could create a business without paying anything to web development.

You might find that business is limited in scale, but so what. Your cost is  limited to your sweat equity to create a revenue stream and THEN buy the website improvements you need to go to the next level. I just build a MagentoGo store (Story of Cancer Store: http://storyofcancer.gostorego.com/ ;) and the same thing is ALMOST true for Ecom.

Between Storify, Volusion and Magento you can create a store for sweat equity + $500 (give or take). My little store has already made $130 inside of its first month so well on its way to paying for its serving costs.

The ultimate lesson of crowdfunding and crowdsourcing is DO NOTHING until it is worth the investment to do so :).

In this article, Siemer discusses Hyperdocs (interactive Google Docs, Slides, or Maps in worksheet form) and the essential elements you need from Google Drive for a successful Hyperdoc.  Elements include the ability to play a video from YouTube in the doc to avoid getting sidetracked on YouTube's website, changing Google Slides page sizes, and inserting tables.  I had never thought of making an interactive worksheet before but am curious to find ways to incorporate this into a music classroom.

Free Technology for Teachers: Why I Occasionally Use Box Instead of Google Drive

Free Technology for Teachers: Why I Occasionally Use Box Instead of Google Drive | Into the Driver's Seat | Scoop.it

by Richard Byrne

"Yesterday, after posting A Complete Guide to Using Blogger In School I received a couple of questions about why I am hosting it on Box.com instead of Google Drive or Scribd as I have done with some guides in the past.

"There are a couple of reasons why I'm not hosting it on Google Drive. First, the Box.com document viewer looks and functions much better than Google Drive does when it comes to large PDFs. In fact, A Complete Guide to Using Blogger In Schoolis a such a large file that Google Drive won't display a preview of it, it just displays a download link. The other reason that I chose to use Box is that Box will email me a weekly update about the usage of my shared files. I can also log-in whenever I want to see the current usage statistics about my shared files.

"I'm not hosting A Complete Guide to Using Blogger In School on Scribd because I've learned that a lot of schools block Scribd."
