So many people are on Pinterest, that it only makes since that teachers and librarians try to use these resources. This article talks about how to use Pinterest to organize information, so that is can easily be found by students, and since it is through a site most teens use, its an engaging tool.

It's a good question! The fact is that blogs are filled with articles about Pinterest. For my part, I am absolutely convinced that this kind of social media will wreak havoc among users... and you? [note mg]
It's addictive, fun, visually appealing, and easy, so it's no wonder Pinterest, the popular visual bookmarking site, has hooked millions of users. That said, the site’s growth (below) was fairly flat from its launch in early 2010 until September 2011. But since then, it’s simply been going gangbusters, begging the question--why now? Here are three reasons why we think it’s become so attractive.
1. Pinterest rides (and defines) a new trend: social relevance.
Pinterest is successfully riding a new trend wave in the social space, moving mechanisms for content sharing beyond connections (friends) and towards relevance, effectively broadening the social horizon for us content addicts.

I'm not saying tools are a must but if used properly, social media apps can be great enhancers to your social networking endeavors, especially one that involves images and graphics like Pinterest.

I use Pinterest a lot for both work and pleasure. I love how I can organise what I find according to pictures! Try it if you haven't already.

Pinterest is a promising visual bookmarking platform. It is gaining in popularity more and more and of course teachers and educators are part of this success for there are now a burgeoning number of educational boards on Pinterest where you can get free access to tons of web tools and teaching tips.There are also some great educational Pinners that are committed to sharing useful resources with their fellow teachers.
