Robin Good: If you have ever transcribed a video interview, you know how frustrating is to pause, restart and rewind the video a million times to be able to get the full audio track to be transcribed properly.
Transcribe comes to the rescue with a free online service that facilitates the transcription of any video. Transcribe provides a set of dedicated options to step through the audio track to be transcribed easily.
You can pause, stop, slow down, speed up and rewind and forward of a few seconds the track at any moment by using a few keys on your computer keyboard.
To use it you only need to upload your .wav or .mp3 audio track and you are ready to go-

Two weeks ago my tip of the week prompted a bunch of questions from readers regarding where to find and how to use music in multimedia projects. Much like with videos watched on YouTube or streamed through Netflix, just because you can listen to a piece of music online that doesn’t mean you necessarily have the rights to re-use it in a multimedia project. That’s why I recommend trying to find music and sound effects that are either in the public domain or have a Creative Commons license that allows for re-use.

Beautiful Audio Editor is a free audio editor that you can use in the Chrome and Firefox web browsers. Beautiful Audio Editor lets you record spoken audio directly and or import audio that you have previously recorded in MP3 and WAV formats. You can edit and blend multiple tracks in the Beautiful Audio Editor. When your audio editing project is complete you can download it as an MP3 file, download it as a WAV file, or you can save it in Google Drive.
For the last few years I've recommended using Twisted Wave to record and edit audio on Chromebooks. Beautiful Audio Editor offers more options and is what I'll be using on Chromebooks from here on.

"I shared a very successful collaboration between our Art teacher and Language Arts teacher in a previous post titled Transliteracy: QR Codes and Art as well as at several conferences and workshops I was leading in the past few months. To follow up on several requests by teachers and workshop attendees, I have created a easy step-by-step how to guide /info-flyer, if you would like to record your students and create QR codes to point to these audio files.

Excellent idea. Not just for kiddies either. But it does presuppose computers and IT resources, which aren't necessarily available in developing countries. That is the filter I apply as our Foundation funds girls' education in those communities.
