This article highlights the importance of learners understanding vocabulary that is specific to each of their subjects given that this greatly impacts on their level of achievement. Regarding Mathematics, the Literacy General Capability requires learners to know mathematical vocabulary for the purpose of being able to interpret questions and being able to solve them.

Out of the range of tools on the website, my personal favourite is No. 9 (MathWords) as this online dictionary is easy to use and defines mathematical terms and formulas.

Graphics director Alberto Lucas Lopéz has created the following infographic for South China Morning Post, depicting languages as populations. 

Based on data from language research project Ethnologue, the infographic shows 23 out of more than 7,000 languages in the world as there are at least 50 million individuals who use these 23 languages as their first language.
