Le Luxembourg, avec 5,7 fois plus de tests effectués que le deuxième au classement, le Danemark, est de loin le pays qui teste le plus en Europe. Ce qui explique, en partie seulement, la hausse importante du nombre de cas de Covid-19 qui a eu lieu ces dernières semaines, selon l’ECDC.

Luxembourg recorded the highest testing rate per capita in Europe for the week starting 20 July, according to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).

With 10,659 tests per 100,000 inhabitants during week 30 of the pandemic, the grand duchy’s wide-scale testing programme recorded a rate 5.7 times higher than the country that came in second place, the ECDC wrote in a report issued on 10 August.

“Large-scale testing is key to controlling transmissions within a population, to ensure comprehensive contact tracing and as a basis for effective surveillance. Test results help guide decisions to implement public health measures. Testing on a large scale is crucial to rapidly identify local outbreaks and thus avoid risk mitigation measures applicable to the entire population,” the report explained.

Luxembourg's Ministry of Health has reported that the importance of having a comprehensive testing strategy in the fight against the COVID-19 virus is highlighted in the new risk assessment that the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) published today, Monday 10 August 2020.

The ECDC is concerned about the development of the situation in the European Union, where several countries have recently been facing an increase in cases. According to the ECDC, the Member States which have opted for the deployment of large-scale tests, in addition to an effective tracing system, such as Luxembourg, are better equipped to quickly detect an increase in cases, to identify groups at risk and therefore to limit the risks of a new rise in infections.

Wegen der hohen Infektionszahl wird Luxemburg vom Robert Koch Institut als Risikoland eingestuft. Die europäische Behörde zur Seuchenbekämpfung hingegen betont, dass Luxemburg alles richtig gemacht hat.

Luxemburg wird vom European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control ECDC für seine umfangreiche Teststrategie gelobt. In einem am Montag  veröffentlichten Risikobericht zeigt sich die oberste europäische Seuchenbekämpfungsbehörde besorgt über die weiter steigende Zahl an Infektionen in verschiedenen EU-Staaten. Länder, die wie Luxemburg systematisch ganze Bevölkerungsgruppen testen, seien am besten gewappnet, um Risikogruppen zu identifizieren und damit das Risiko für ein weiteres Ansteigen der Infektionen  zu minimieren.

Das Europäische Zentrum für die Prävention und die Kontrolle von Krankheiten (ECDC) hat am Montag seine Risikobewertung aktualisiert. Angesichts steigender Fallzahlen in einigen europäischen Ländern drängt die EU-Agentur die Mitgliedsstaaten, «bestimmte Maßnahmen wieder einzuführen», um ein «wirkliches Wiederaufleben» von Corona zu verhindern.

Nach den Statistiken der Agentur werden in der Europäischen Union täglich etwa 10.000 bis 15.000 Fälle neu registriert. Dieser Wert liegt weit entfernt vom Höchstwert von über 30.000 Fällen Anfang April, aber deutlich über der von Mitte Mai bis Mitte Juli beobachteten Marke von 5000. «Während in vielen Ländern jetzt milde oder sogar asymptomatische Patienten getestet werden, was zu einem Anstieg der Zahl der registrierten Fälle führt, gibt es in mehreren Ländern einen echten Anstieg der Fälle, der mit der Lockerung von Maßnahmen des Social-Distancings zusammenhängt», teilt die in Stockholm ansässige Agentur weiter mit. «Das Risiko einer Progression von Covid-19 ist für diese Länder hoch», und «sehr hoch», wenn sie ihre Beschränkungen nicht einführen oder verstärken, warnt das ECDC.
