A cider from Luxembourg has been named the best in the world at the bi-annual International Brewing & Cider Awards, widely known as the brewing industry's Oscars.  

Ramborn Cider from Luxembourg won The International Innovative Cider Award 2021 for its Ramborn Ice Perry. 

Brewers and cider-makers from 24 countries received accolades at the International Brewing & Cider Awards 2021.

126 medals and twelve trophies were awarded to beers and ciders from all over the world, including entrants from Australia, China, Japan, Luxembourg, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Luxembourg-based Ramborn Cider Co. has received a double gold award for its perry (pear cider) at the 2019 Cidercraft Awards in the US, shortly after bringing home a gold medal from the 2019 International Cider Awards in London. 

A  jury of industry specialists, growers, producers and other experts determined the winners of the 2019 Cidercraft Awards by means of a blind tasting of perries and ciders from around the world. The results will be featured in the January 2020 issue of Cidercraft Magazine, the world’s premiere cider magazine with a distribution of over 100,000 copies per issue. 

The double gold is just one of several awards for Ramborn Perry, which also picked up a gold medal at the 2019 International Cider Awards in London, in which over 200 breweries and cider makers from around the world took part, and another gold medal at the 2017 SISGA competition in Spain.

B Medical Systems, entreprise de technologie médicale basée à Hosingen depuis 40 ans, a annoncé ce mercredi avoir lancé le premier «frigo» capable de faire face aux problèmes électriques. Un enjeu crucial pour les vaccins dans les pays en voie de développement.

Noms de code: «TCW 40 R AC» et «TCW 80 AC». Fonctions: réfrigérateurs permettant de maintenir un niveau de température constant pendant trois jours sans courant et capables de résister à toute variation de haute tension. Particularité: capables de contenir 1.168 flacons et 2.576 flacons de 10ml de vaccin. Particularité singulière: ont été imaginés et fabriqués à Hosingen.

«L’instabilité des réseaux électriques est un défi majeur dans les pays en voie de développement, où les réfrigérateurs médicaux rendent l’âme les uns après les autres. B Medical Systems a développé le tout premier réfrigérateur résistant à toutes les tensions et fréquences électriques dans le monde entier. Une percée technologique», a déclaré Luc Provost, CEO de B Medical Systems, dans un communiqué, mercredi matin.

„Moutarderie de Luxembourg“ bringt BBQ-Sauce auf den Markt
Hier ist der Name Programm: „Moutarderie de Luxembourg“, die Senfkörner kommen zwar aus Kanada, dennoch sind der Senf und die Saucen, die die Moutarderie herstellt, durch und durch luxemburgische Produkte. Was auch von den heimischen Kunden mit einem hohen Marktanteil von 65 Prozent beim Senf gedankt wird.

Seit einiger Zeit hat das vor 96 Jahren gegründete Unternehmen den Weg der Diversifikation eingeschlagen und bietet neben seinen verschiedenen Sorten Senf noch Mayonnaise und seit 2014 auch Ketchup und „Sauce Andalouse“ an. Im letzten Jahr hat die „Moutarderie“ unter der Leitung von Roland und Yann Munhowen 1,7 Millionen Euro Umsatz gemacht, eine Steigerung von 11,5 Prozent gegenüber 2016. Dafür wurden 240 Tonnen Senf (vier Sorten), 67 Tonnen Mayonnaise (drei Sorten), 36 Tonnen Ketchup und 27 Tonnen „Sauce Andalouse“ hergestellt. Insgesamt arbeiten am Sitz des Unternehmens im Gewerbegebiet von Munsbach (Schüttringen) nur acht Personen. Neben dem heimischen Markt wird auch nach Deutschland und in die USA geliefert, was aber nur 1,5 Prozent des Umsatzes ausmacht.

Gestern wurde das jüngste Kind aus der Versuchsküche der „Moutarderie“ der Presse vorgestellt.

Weltmarktführer bei Test - Auftrag steht

Luxemburg/ Öland Der Luxemburger Spezialist für Abwasser und Wasser, Apateq, hat einen Auftrag für mehrere Millionen Euro in Schweden erhalten. Auf der zweitgrößten schwedischen Insel Öland mit rund 25.000 Einwohnern wird Apateq für die Gemeinde Mörbylånga eine Anlage für Wasser und Abwasser bauen, die den strengen schwedischen und internationalen Normen gerecht wird. Sie wird Ende 2018 in Betrieb gehen und Wasser in Trinkwasserqualität aus so unterschiedlichen Qualitäten wie Brackwasser, Brunnenwasser sowie Industriewasser produzieren. Damit löst Apateq das Frischwasser-Problem auf der Insel, auf der frisches Grundwasser nur begrenzt zur Verfügung steht. Aufwendige Wassertransporte der mit dem Festland durch eine Brücke verbundene Insel entfallen so. Gleichzeitig wird kein Brauchwasser mehr ins Meer abgeleitet. Öland ist rund 137 km lang und maximal 16 km breit.

Um den Auftrag gemäß einer internationalen Ausschreibung zu erhalten hatte Apateq ein halbes Jahr lang eine Anlage für Tests zur Verfügung gestellt - genau wie internationale Konkurrenten. Anders als diese konnte das Luxemburger Unternehmen jedoch als einziges alle Auflagen erfüllen.

Jetzt stehen möglicherweise noch weitere Aufträge an, denn es spricht sich in Schweden herum, was die Technologie aus Luxemburg kann. Apateq führt bereits weitere Gespräche. Auf der beliebten Ferieninsel befindet sich der Sommersitz der schwedischen Königsfamilie, die dann ebenfalls von Apateq gereinigtes Wasser erhalten wird.

Luxembourgish crémants have won a total of 21 gold medals at the National Crémant Competition of France and Luxembourg which was held in southeast France on Friday 24 May 2019.

The awards ceremony of the 28th edition of the National Crémant Competition of France and Luxembourg took place last Friday in Die in the Drôme department of France.

The Luxembourg Moselle is the only wine region with the right to present its samples to this competition, in addition to the regions of Alsace, Burgundy, Bordeaux, Limoux, Loire, Die, Jura and Savoie. Once again, Luxembourg winegrowers have shown that their products should no longer hide behind the competition. At more than 40 tables, the crémants were tasted blindly by different representatives of the wine regions in four sub-categories (Blanc Brut, Blanc Brut Millésimé, Rosé Brut, Blanc de Noirs Brut). The tasters of the Luxembourg crémants appreciated the approximately 80 samples presented.

In all, Luxembourg's crémants managed to attract 21 gold and 6 silver medals from the Moselle. The Luxembourg delegation, made up of representatives of the Domaines Vinsmoselle cooperative, private winegrowers, trade, the press and the wine institute, was delighted with the results of the award ceremony.
