A Video-based Exit Ticket Sparks Engagement | Faculty Focus

A Video-based Exit Ticket Sparks Engagement | Faculty Focus | Education 2.0 & 3.0 | Scoop.it
The proliferation of low-cost, easy-to-use technology has opened the door for students to discover new ways of acquiring and constructing knowledge and representing their thinking (Bene 2015, iv). After attending an educational technology conference last year, I opted to extend my classroom pedagogy to better incorporate technology and promote active learning.

With my new paradigm shift in place, on the first day of class I asked my statistics students to download an application called Clips (although any video app would suffice). I also invited them into a shared Google Drive where they would upload their soon-to-be created videos.

Managing Your Digital Classroom with Wearable Technology (EdSurge News)

Managing Your Digital Classroom with Wearable Technology (EdSurge News) | Education 2.0 & 3.0 | Scoop.it

On a typical day, there are three stations in my classroom: a teacher station where I conduct small group instruction, a collaborative station where students work cooperatively to complete a task, and a work station where students work independently to complete asynchronous tasks. With three distinct groups working simultaneously, one might wonder how a can teacher respond to each and every student misunderstanding.

Battle of the Classrooms: Apple, Google, Microsoft Vie for K-12 Market - EdSurge News | Education 2.0 & 3.0 | Scoop.it
It’s terribly confusing, but perhaps no coincidence, that three of the world’s most prominent consumer technology companies—Apple, Google, Microsoft—each boast a “Classroom” tool aimed at K-12 educators and students. After all, what better way to secure a foothold in the market than impressing one’s brand to future consumers at a young age?

5 Ways For Teachers To Use Tumblr In Their Classroom - EdTechReview™ (ETR) | Education 2.0 & 3.0 | Scoop.it

Tumblr is one of the newer social media apps that allow free sharing of digital media over the web. It is a social channel that has not been left isolated by the educators, as more and more teachers turn to utilizing methods of using this app in their classrooms.

If you are a teacher and want to take advantage of this app, here are a few ways in which you can use Tumblr to bring a whole new life to your classroom:

Jo Blannin - The Know Tech Teacher's curator insight, September 11, 2014 10:21 PM

This great article shows how we can use Tumblr in our classrooms. I love the suggestion of a quick and easy website or hosting an online debate. They also point out that we need to protect kids online, but they need experience to learn how to do this - Tumblr could be a good way to do this :0)

Do you use Tumblr?

I have an account but don't check it much...maybe I should be?

Any tips or advice for me?
