Here's another response to a question I received from participants during the recent webinar I presented for EDEN. You can watch the entire webinar on YouTube at this link. The question is one of several I couldn't answer in full because of time constraints, so here is the question again with a few additional thoughts:

A major challenge at the moment, especially for teachers, but also translated to students, is keeping up with the curriculum. This limits the possibility of allowing students to learn on their own and finding their own path of learning. This period could be a window of opportunity in personalised learning, in finding students finding "their own pathway." How do you create a balance?

Animal Farm is a very good book. I personally think that it’s a book for all ages. For example, little kids can read it and just think it’s a fairy tale about animals whereas, older kids will probably get the true message and understand that it’s about power.

Animal Farm does not exactly fit the ideal of a modernist novel, as it is written using traditional forms—fable, fairytale, allegory—but it does fit the first two characteristics, at least to some extent. Orwell’s fable is a critique of the modern world, especially of Soviet i recomment https://www.livestockanimalexchange.com/

The American Brahman breed of cattle originated from Bos Indicus cattle. These hardy cattle were originally brought to the United Stated from India. The American Brahman was the first beef cattle breed developed in the United States. The American Brahman are for the most part the result of a cross of four different Indian cattle breeds: Gyr, Guzerat, Nelore and Krishna Valley. Best place to buy livestock online at Livestock Animal Exchange.

The American Brahman cattle originated from a nucleus of approximately 266 bulls and 22 females of several Bos indicus varieties of cattle which were imported into the United States between 1854 and 1926. The American Brahman has been used to develop numerous other U.S. Beef Breeds of cattle including Brangus, Beefmaster, Simbrah and Santa Gertrudis.

Brahman cattle are known for their extreme tolerance to heat and are widespread in tropical regions. They are resistant to insects due to their thick skin. Brahman cattle live longer than many other breeds, often producing calves at ages 15 and older. Best place to order livestock online

At Bulter Brahmans we have both Polled Brahman Cattle as well as Horned Brahman Cattle. If you are looking for Polled Brahman bulls, Polled Brahman heifers, horned Brahman bulls or horned Brahman heifers, we always have a nice selection of American Brahman Cattle available for sale. Imagine this.

By the time lunch rolls around, you push back from your desk with a satisfied sigh, saunter off to your car, and drive off to have a leisurely, stress-free lunch, daydreaming about the 18 holes that you're going to play for the rest of the day.

This can be for real.

You can get 90 percent or more of your work done in the morning. Around the time people are groping for the next shot of caffeine, you're shutting down your Macbook and chilling out.

Strategies for staying sane while staying home

Strategies for staying sane while staying home | Education 2.0 & 3.0 | Scoop.it
Social distancing. Stay-in ordinances. Home schooling. Experiences many of us never thought we would be living at the beginning of 2020. Now, the “new normal,” at least for the near future, involves students of all ages at home all day and parents trying to move their work to a virtual format. Managing the stress of change is a lot, but trying to do it while entertaining a kindergartner or overseeing a high-schooler’s online activities is enough to ramp up anyone’s stress level.

Five Work Habits To Kick Before The End Of The Year

Five Work Habits To Kick Before The End Of The Year | Education 2.0 & 3.0 | Scoop.it

Kids are back in school. Pumpkin spice lattes are back in Starbucks. It’s official: Summer is over and the year is winding down.

But before it does, there might be a goal or two you committed to back in January that you’d still really love to make good on. Don’t worry–falling short on your New Year’s resolutions is totally normal. And even if you missed your chance to get back in the saddle at the six-month mark, there might still be some things you can do to make headway between now and the holidays. One tactic that might help? Cutting back.

Sometimes all you need to jump-start your progress is to ditch some of your routines, bad habits, and maybe even some of your other goals so you can redirect your energy where it counts. For inspiration, here’s what five Fast Company contributors–in their own ways, all experts on productivity and self-management–are kicking to the curb in order to end the year on a high note.

Guest Post: Time Keeps on Slipping (So, use it productively)!

Paying enough effort and time is a key to success. However, sometimes the effort and time are not enough to get what you want. The matter is that we get the desired result when we properly use all the resources available. In this lies the real effectiveness that can help you to achieve what you want.

There are thousands of examples when people have several spare hours per day for accomplishing their goals but they never get what they want. And there are thousands of examples when people who have almost no free time get everything they want: they combine work and study, family and business, travel and full-time job. Why does this happen? In fact, the answer to this question lies in personal productivity and ability to manage time properly.

3 Easy Ways to Improve Your Efficiency

3 Easy Ways to Improve Your Efficiency | Education 2.0 & 3.0 | Scoop.it

When it comes to many of the people who we think are hardworking, we're really just misinformed. For instance, it is a common thought that people who work late are hardworking. Why? Because the assumption is that they have so much work to do that they must burn the midnight oil to get it done. Another example is when we see people who always seem like they are busy all the time. Again, they have taken on so much work that they must work all the time.

In truth, most of these "hard workers" are just inefficient. Look closely and you'll see they use these methods to produce the same results as everybody else. And while it can be argued that these people are disciplined because of their work ethic, more of a focus should be put on productivity. And to produce more results, you don't have to work longer, just smarter.

Via The Learning Factor
The Learning Factor's curator insight, April 12, 2015 6:42 PM

Most people who we think are working hard are mismanaging their time.
