NK Cells with KIR2DS2 Immunogenotype Have a Functional Activation A... - PubMed - NCBI

Gilbert C FAURE's insight:

Abstract

Glioblastomas (GBMs) are lethal brain cancers that are resistant to current therapies. We investigated the cytotoxicity of human allogeneic NK cells against patient-derived GBM in vitro and in vivo, as well as mechanisms mediating their efficacy. We demonstrate that KIR2DS2 immunogenotype NK cells were more potent killers, notwithstanding the absence of inhibitory killer Ig-like receptor (KIR)-HLA ligand mismatch....

Access : Characterization of a weakly expressed KIR2DL1 variant reveals a novel upstream promoter that controls KIR expression : Genes and Immunity

Genes and Immunity is a journal dedicated to functional genetics of the immune response. Emphasizing studies that demonstrate genetic, genomic or functional variation in the immune system, Genes and Immunity assists our understanding of how the basic control over the immune system varies between individuals both in health and disease.
