McQueary Concludes Testimony, Victim One Wrestling Coach Follows

McQueary Concludes Testimony, Victim One Wrestling Coach Follows | Scandal at Penn State | Scoop.it

McQueary finished his testimony by reiterating that he did not in fact see enough to tell what exactly was occuring, but he was sure that it was sexual and inappropriate. He also said that he wants to continue to be a football coach at Penn State, and deserves to do so.

The former wrestling coach of Victim 1 also testified and confirmed the previously told story about him walking in on Sandusky on top of the boy "practicing wrestling moves." He didn't think anything of this beacuse, like most other adults at the time, he thought that Jerry Sandusky was "a saint."

Amirah Azziz's curator insight, January 20, 2013 11:40 PM

An example of a lack of ethics. The Penn State organization did not follow their own set of Ethics.

Victim 1 Finishes Cross-Examination, Three Other Witnesses Testify | Scandal at Penn State | Scoop.it

In the second half of his questioning, Victim 1 became frustrated with the repetitive nature of Amendola's questions regarding a few different stories the boy told to different people. Victim 1 reiterated that it was difficult to talk about what happened to him, especially to a room full of strangers.

Three other witnesses also confirmed the relationship between Victim 1 and Sandusky.

Joe Paterno’s first interview since the Penn State-Sandusky scandal

Joe Paterno’s first interview since the Penn State-Sandusky scandal | Scandal at Penn State | Scoop.it

Joe Paterno makes his first extensive comments on the Penn State abuse scandal and its fallout in an exclusive interview with The Post's Sally Jenkins.

Lots of emotion in this article. I can now say that my faith has been restored Joe Paterno and the type of person that he is. His intentions are genuine, and his heart is overflowing with generosity. This interview probably will stir up lots of contraversy, I am positive that everyone will take it and twist it to fit their own beliefs.

What I can get it out of it is that Joe Paterno put faith in someone else to do the right thing, and that person didn't pull through. Despite that, Paterno continues to support the university that he has dedicated (almost) his entire life to improving, even in the recent weeks with his annual donation to Penn State. I believe that his words are genuine, and I only hope that things fall back into place before this horrible situation becomes the defining part of the last moments of Paterno's life, which may be soon approaching.

An absolute must read.

Jerry Sandusky trial: I wish I’d paid more attention to one young man’s pain

Jerry Sandusky trial: I wish I’d paid more attention to one young man’s pain | Scandal at Penn State | Scoop.it

An emotional piece by former PSU linebacker LaVar Arrington.

He recalls interacting with "Victim 4" and noticing that something in his life was wrong. Arrington chalked it up to the fact that he probably had a rough home life, an assumption made based upon the boy's involvement in the Second Mile program.

Now, Arrington wishes that he could have noticed what was really going on.

"I hate everything that has happened, and now I must admit I feel even worse, knowing what allegedly was happening so close to me, and that I was unaware."

Jury Set: Trial to Begin Monday Morning

Jury Set: Trial to Begin Monday Morning | Scandal at Penn State | Scoop.it

Two days later, the jury for the Jerry Sandusky trial is set. Comprised of 12 jurors and 4 alternate jurors, this jury seems to boast a lot of personal ties to Penn State. Frankly, though, there is no way that there would be a jury on this case that was completely unrelated to anything that had to do with the situation.

At least we know that Juror #10 has light brown hair.
